What is this?
Well, originally it is a carving, in use in Transylvania mainly, and also it is applied to textiles as an embroidery pattern. I chose this symbol due to its symbolic meaning: protection.
The myth says that owl symbols are to protect the people while they sleep, taking care that no evil beings could approach the house they are guarding. In shamanic traditions, as a bird it becomes an envoy between worlds, it can transgress from and to the realm of the dead, visiting the high- and the underworlds.
