In the pipeline

Here are those of my writings which I plan to publish on a long run.

Publication on the role of Alexios Angelos

When: in 2025 if all goes well

This publication tries to explore the dramatic events leading to the fall of Constantinople in 1204, with a special focus on the Byzantine prince Alexios Angelos. It challenges the traditional view of him as a traitor and reconsiders his short reign in light of Byzantine politics and social tensions.

I composed this work on the advice of a friend who knew how much time I had devoted to the prince’s story – through a movie script, a play, a book, and more – as a way to summarize the findings I gathered over many years.

The study critically examines the biased medieval sources, and highlights a few overlooked perspectives. By questioning long-held assumptions, I attempt to shed new light on Alexios’ role and the wider crisis of the Byzantine Empire.

In recent months (2025), two historians have reviewed the text and provided thoughtful suggestions. Their feedback was encouraging, and I now plan to refine the work in light of their notes. I am hopeful that, with these revisions, the study will be a good one.

As for publishing, my first step will be to approach a historical magazine. After that, I intend to prepare an English translation and explore international opportunities. Time will tell where the path leads.

Poésie

When: no deadline so far, but in 2025 or 2026

A poetry collection is waiting to be born. Back in the late ’90s and early 2000s, I wrote hundreds of poems and songs, most of them in English. A few in German and French as well – I admit I enjoyed composing while learning the languages.

The plan is to gather these works into a printed book, illustrated with my old drawings. For now, the project rests, paused by lack of time. But when the moment comes, I will gladly return to it and give these poems a new life.

Sample stuff, a few poems:
L’étoile, Aus den Wolken, Hyperbolic mandala matrix, Ambulance car

Empathy essay collection

When: no deadline, but at best in 2025 or 2026

This would include two shorter episodes:

  1. memorial visit to Budapest Svábhegy, finding up the infamous locations where the German Nazis set up their headquarters, placing tiny roses to these places
  2. memorial walk to find the buildings which the Arrow-cross (Nyilas aka Hungarian Nazi) had been using in 1944-early 1945, placing tiny roses to these locations, remembering the victims
